Where can i find the latest resources and updates for instructors? +
Instructors can find the Resources and updates in our MHFA Connect platform on the resources page. You can find the Resources button on your Primary Navigation menu. Use this page to find resources such as the Instructor Handbook or the MHFA Connect User Guide. To narrow your search results, take advantage of the search bar to search key words or the category dropdown menu. Using the category dropdown menu, you can narrow your results by the curriculum you’re offering or the activity you’re working on, such as marketing your course.

What's the difference between blended and in-person course delivery? +
In-person courses are completely in-person, with instructors and learners in the same learning space. The pre-work for In-person courses includes completing the pre-evaluation Blended courses consist of the participant completing self-paced pre-work (approx. 2 hours) and then completes the ILT delivery with the instructor. The ILT can be in-person, where the participants meet in the same location with the instructor, or it can be virtual delivery, where participants complete the training with the instructor in a virtual platform (such as Zoom).

How many courses should I teach before my anniversary date to maintain my certification? +
For single certification: Instructors must teach a minimum of three courses per anniversary to maintain certification. For dual certification: Instructors must teach a minimum of three courses per anniversary year with at least one course from each curriculum (adult and youth) annually to maintain certification.

Should I submit my course using the Connect portal or the SAC portal? +
Submit a Course was developed and launched in June of 2022 to account for these unique circumstances as an alternative, accessible way for MHFA facilitators to report course data for in-person MHFA courses that cannot otherwise be reported in Connect. The following chart outlines how the two platforms are intended to be used by Adult, Youth, and Teen MHFA facilitators. Connect can be used: By All Adult and Youth Instructors and Coordinators. When All Learners have reliable internet access and a valid email address. SAC can be used: To report couse data Fully in -person Adult MHFA and Youth MHFA courses for learners without Internet or email access who cannot use Connect. To report all recent or upcoming Teen MHFA courses. Participants under 18 may not take classes taught in Connect because privacy laws prohibit us from collecting minors' personal identifying information, such as email addresses. NOTE: All courses connected to the Florida Department of Education should be taught via Submit A Course. FLDOE MHFA Facilitators are not permitted to create or facilitate courses in Connect.
